Dondino MelchiorreRead To Me Foundation
President/Executive Director
Born in Italy, Dondino came to the United States with his family in pursuit of a better way of life. Because he did not speak English upon his arrival to America he learned many English words through his singing talents by mimicking the lyrics to hundreds of American songs.

Dondino made a significant mark in the entertainment world and has vowed to give back to society through helping others. As a professional singer and entertainer he is an active member of Variety, the children's charity, and serves as one of the principal entertainers for the annual Variety Telethon fund raiser of Iowa. MISSOURI AND OKLAHOMA CHAPTER PRESIDENT
Nixa, MO
Rebecca Chapman
Born in Sikeston, Missouri and raised in Protem, MO, south of Springfield. Becky (as she is called by friends and family) married Roger Chapman and raised 5 children, not counting the husband, a passel of cats, dogs, and various farm animals (for those of you not country enough, passel means a "BIG" quantity). Her roots are deep in the heart of Missouri.
Becky and her husband owned and operated the Branson travel company "Down Home Tours" during the 90's big tourism and building boom in Branson. Besides a successful business for many years Becky loved the travel customers and entertained them with her unique understanding and true stories of Branson and the lake area.
Becky's heart for children is evident in her raising 5 of her own. She understood the importance of reading to her children at an early age to help them learn the joy of reading and developing their own ideas.
Since the passing of her husband, Becky has continued working with the travel industry in various capacities, as well as volunteering her time to charities and children in need.
Her love for Missouri and sister state Oklahoma, as well as the many children in need of literacy support has given her a new goal with Read To Me Foundation. It is her desire to touch many Missouri and Oklahoma children through the Read To Me Foundation bilingual book distribution programs.
Becky has begun her fight for literacy with Read To Me Foundation through the OACAC (Ozarks Area Community Action Corporation) in Springfield, MO. OACAC is a part of a nationwide network of Community Action Agencies, and continues to fight poverty with new and innovative programs and expanded services for children through Head Start and Early Head Start. Becky will work closely with OACAC to determine the best Head Start programs that would benefit from Read To Me Foundation's bilingual FREE children books.
Ronald McDonald House Charities will be included in Becky's literacy plan. Ronald McDonald Houses throughout the nation support many families and children in serious medical situations. It has been such a privilege for Read To Me Foundation to help the various Ronald McDonald Houses with bilingual books. The McDonald Houses in both Missouri and Oklahoma will be a great addition to Read To Me Foundation's book distribution requests.
LITERACY ANGEL
BOOK DEDICATION CERTIFICATE
Literacy Angel Dedication Certificates cost $10.00 per book dedication. They are signed by the dedicating "Literacy Angel" on a certificate that will then be placed inside a book to be given to a child.
This has been an inspiring program for individuals, corporations and business owners to donate through a dedication certificate, that will enable a child to receive a personalized book supporting and encouraging the child to make reading a part of their success for life. It really means a lot to a child to know that through a Literacy Angel's support they will own and treasure their own book!
Peggy has initiated this program in the Dubuque, Iowa area and has been extremely successful in finding Literacy Angels throughout the area who have dedicated books to the children through the $10 dollar purchase of a Literacy Angel Dedication Certificate.
She encourages each Board Member and volunteers to use the Literacy Angel Dedication Certificate program as a fun tool to put more books in the hands of children. Children who might never own a book. A book that will start a child on a road to success through literacy! A book made possible through a Literacy Angel Dedication Certificate......
CORPORATE LITERACY ANGEL
